Club History

Grafton Touch Association was re-established by community members to facilitate Touch Football and deliver competitions for the local community in 2016. Previously there had been a long history of a Women’s and Mixed competitions in the 1990’s and early 2000’s.

In 2016, the Grafton Touch Association was re-established and is part of the Northern Eagles Region of NSW.

Over time Grafton Touch Association has been an important part of our local community with over 400 participants playing in our local competition.  

Grafton Touch Association has been fortunate to produce some Region, (Northern Eagles) representative players in its short-established time.

2016/17: David Dart and Andrew Cahill (over 40’s)

2017/18: Greg Eather (over 50’s)

2021: Craig Nipperess (over 45’s)

2022 Marcus Cato (over 65’s), Craig Nipperess (over 40’s), Kyron Nipperess and Mitchel Dick (U16’s NYC)

2023 Jye Cone and Kyran Walker (B12’s regionals), Sahara Powell (G18’s regionals)

2024 Josh Nagle, James Watters, Simon Robertson and Craig Nipperess (M40’s)

The Association is in a stronger position and will continue to grow and build a positive culture within the community and look to build so that we have stability and strength in the future years.

Committee Role Descriptions

Each committee member will be provided with the club uniform and they or their child or grandchild will receive FREE registration for the season…..

President
To communicate regularly with the members of the Executive.
Preside over Association and special meetings.
To take an active role in the general running of the Association
To be proactive as a channel of communication on Touch Football  issues and those associated with the running of the affiliate
To co-ordinate, alongside other members of the Association, campaigns/event/running of the club as undertaken by the Executive Committee
Attend monthly meetings on behalf of the club.

Vice-President
To assist the Association President in undertaking his/her duties.
In the absence of the President, preside over the Association and special meetings
In the absence of the Association President undertake any responsibilities as required of Association President.
Attend monthly meetings on behalf of the Association.

Secretary
Responsible for receiving and passing on information within and outside the Association
Attend monthly meetings.
Keep minutes of:
 All appointment of office-bearers and members of the committee.
 The name of members of the committee present at committee meetings and general meetings.
 All proceedings at a committee meeting and general meetings. Check and collect Association correspondences.
Maintaining club records. Print game team sheets, record scores, player attendance, and try scoring

Treasurer
Responsible for the finances of the Association.
To ensure that all money due to the club is collected and received and that all payments authorised by the Association are made.
To ensure that correct books and accounts are kept showing the financial affairs of the Association, including full details of all receipts and expenditure connected with the activities of the Association
Issue a quarterly report on the financial status of the Association.

REFEREES COORDINATOR:

Must be a Level 2 referee, a qualified facilitator and referees Coach. Each year conduct a Level 1 referees course for the affiliate and provide ongoing coaching/feedback to association duty referees

COACH COORDINATOR:

Must be Talent Coach (Level 2) and a qualified facilitator. Each year organise teams and coaches for State Cups (junior and senior). Assist with the development initiatives of the association from the coaching perspective.

Game Development Officer:

Liaise with Sporting Schools to conduct the “First Try” program to local Clarence Valley schools

Grounds Person

Measure the fields to begin the season. Mark the fields on a fortnightly basis.
